Day 1: Welcome to Delhi

Your journey begins in India’s bustling capital, Delhi. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by your private driver and escorted to your hotel. Relax at your hotel and take an afternoon stroll around Connaught Place, one of the city’s vibrant hubs.

Day 2: Unveiling Delhi’s History

Delve into Delhi’s rich past with visits to famous landmarks such as the majestic Red Fort, the towering Qutub Minar and the solemn India Gate. Visit Karim ‘s restaurant in Old Delhi for his delicious Butter Chicken.

Day 3: On to Mandawa with its famous Havelis.

In the afternoon, wander through the quiet streets and admire the many beautifully painted merchant houses (Havelis) of the wealthy merchants who once inhabited this small town.

Day 4: To Bikaner.

Enjoy the scenery and visit the Karni Mata Temple, also known as the rat temple, on the way and you are guaranteed a special “spectacle”. Or take a walk through the old part of the city in the afternoon and get lost in the winding streets.

Day 5: Bikaner and the Junagarh fort

The main attraction is the beautiful and very well maintained Junagarh Fort. Take the audio tour and enjoy this special 16th century building.

Day 6: Through the desert to the golden city, Jaisalmer

Enjoy the dry landscape and marvel at the rising sand-coloured city upon arrival. Try one of the local curries in the evening, you won’t regret

Day 7: A whole day of enjoyment.

Upon arrival, the gate to the golden city already looks impressive. In this fortress city there are not only temples and a palace, but also many homes for the approximately 3000 inhabitants. Wander through the streets and see how daily life plays out here. Then take a camel ride in the desert and spend the night in a tent with festive music at dinner.

Day 8: Towards Jodhpur, the blue city.

After a few hours in the car it is nice to know that Jodhpur has many small street food eateries. After checking in and relaxing in your hotel, a visit to these often years-old “restaurants” is a very pleasant way to end the day. Also try the delicious desserts, many of which originate from Jodhpur.

Day 9: Mehrangarh Fort by hike or zipline

This mighty structure is easy to explore on foot, but for the more adventurous, there is a zipline course that offers magnificent views of the fort and the city. And how nice to cool down after this adventure with the local Lassi, which is thicker and creamier in Jodhpur than in the rest of India.

Day 10: Off to the most romantic city of Rajasthan, Udaipur

When you arrive you immediately feel that this city is different. With its location on Lake Pichola and surrounded by mountains, the contrast with the other cities in Rajasthan is great. With a hotel overlooking the lake, you will want to stay a little longer.

Day 11 and 12: Two days of enjoyment!

Breakfast overlooking the lake, a boat trip around the Lake Palace Hotel, located in the former Jag Niwas palace, a visit to the enormous City Palace or just strolling through the city with a final dinner on a terrace by the lake. You will not be bored during these two days in Udaipur.

Day 13: Towards the holy city of Pushkar

Pushkar, also situated on a lake, has a pleasantly relaxed hippie-like atmosphere. Sit down at the Ghats and watch the locals wash themselves or their clothes in this water. Are you travelling in October or November? Try to combine your visit with the Pushkar fair, the largest camel market in the world. A unique and very photogenic spectacle, which takes place around Pushkar for one week (alternating every year in October or November).

Day 14: Royal Discoveries in Jaipur

After the morning drive, delve into Jaipur’s royal history with visits to the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), the Jantar Mantar and the City Palace.

Day 15: Experience the iconic Taj Mahal in Agra

En route to Agra, make a stop at Fatehpur Sikri, a special UNESCO World Heritage Site, to later witness the timeless beauty of the Taj Mahal as night falls,

Day 16: Back in Delhi

This day you still have the opportunity to admire the Taj Mahal at dawn, after which the end of this Rajasthan tour is imminent and the driver will take you back to your hotel in Delhi or to the airport.
